OmniAir Consortium, Inc., the trade association dedicated to growing the market for certification of intelligent transportation and supporting national toll interoperability, announced that it has appointed an Interim Executive Director.
The OmniAir Board met for its 9th Annual Board of Directors Meeting and welcomed new Directors, a new Vice Chair, and also grew the Board of OmniAir Certification Services. Elected were Eric Redmann of 3M and Chris Body of Kapsch – both to three-year terms.
OmniAir Certification Services, Inc. (OCS), the test-affiliate of OmniAir Consortium, on September 10th awarded 3M the first “OmniAir-Certified” certificates for products tested under a toll technology certification program.
OmniAir has begun the final round of Connected Vehicle Program Vehicle Awareness Device (VAD) testing with outdoor/field testing occuring September 18-21, 2012.
OmniAir’s EPS Committee has developed the first draft of an EPS National Interoperability Specification and is currently working to integrate 5.9GHz DSRC AVI equipment for testing alongside the existing E-ZPass system at NY State Bridge Authority’s Beacon Bridge.
